This sculptural display presents two well preserved ammonites, attached in one matrix. The base itself is constructed of a carved red-cedar "wave", flame blackened and sealed, surrounded by a hammered steel frame. The striations in the wood grain evoke the layers of earth, while the overall form gives a sense of movement to celebrate these ancient underwater creatures.
